bitFlyer Group Acquires FTX Japan and Eyes Crypto ETFs bitFlyer Group Holdings has acquired FTX Japan and is planning to launch crypto-based ETFs. With the acquisition, FTX Japan becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of bitFlyer. CEO Yuzo Kano announced plans to offer crypto custody solutions for institutional investors, emphasizing the need for secure storage of physical BTC to back ETFs. This move brings Japan closer to its first crypto ETF, a significant step for the market. Kano noted that institutional investor interest surged in the US following the Bitcoin ETF listing, hinting at similar potential for Japan.

ICMA partners with MAS to drive asset tokenisation standards ICMA - International Capital Market Association is honoured to be among the global industry associations chosen as a partner by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) as it expands its Project Guardian initiative, which aims to add scale to asset tokenisation for financial services. Building on the successes of industry pilots, three workstreams will be set up to drive common asset tokenisation standards in fixed income, foreign exchange, and asset & wealth management ICMA will work with the MAS and participate in the Fixed Income workstream to develop protocols and data specifications building on ICMA’s Bond Data Taxonomy, and consider the types of risk factors and disclosures required in a tokenised bond offering document. Play Ventures, a global venture capital firm focused on early-stage investments in the gaming industry, has secured $140 million for its third gaming fund. This latest fund marks the largest raised by the Singapore-based firm, increasing its total assets under management to $450 million. “Software may have eaten the world, but mobile has swallowed our time whole.
