Much of the world is going through an unrelenting growth in excess body fat. Latin America is no exception. In Brazil, where the Federal government pays for much of the related expenses, the problem threatens the national budget and has caught the attention of President Lula, who's placed it firmly on the country's national agenda.
"Within a decade, the Brazilian adult population living with obesity will double," warns Dr. Paulo Augusto Miranda, President of the Brazilian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism. "It's a level that puts us close to that of countries with high obesity rates, such as Mexico and the United States."
Brazil now has a new tool in the fight against excess body fat. Coming on the heels of certification in the United States, certification has now been granted for Pep 19 as ANVISA, the country's equivalent of the FDA, has certified the peptide for use in supplements, foods, and beverages. As in the United States, where Pep19 is available as nutroslim capsules, in Brazil Pep19 is available as Munipulart capsules.
"The simplest formulation by which to deliver Pep19 to consumers is by capsule, which is how we're doing it," noted Renata Coelho, whose Manipulart corporation is offering the first Pep19 product to Brazilian consumers. "This is an exciting moment for our customers and for us."
Opening Brazil represents a kind of coming home for Pep19, a peptide that was discovered at a research laboratory in São Paulo. The new regulatory certification facilitates Proteimax' collaborations with local government, academia, and industry partners and thus accelerates the process of identifying all the ways in which Pep19 can drive value.
