We are committed to helping people feel less isolated and more connected through the power of live experiences
In 2022, 18-25 year-olds reported feeling:*
*Eventbrite commissioned a study surveying a sample of 152 Eventbrite users in this age range.
While the health impacts of social isolation and loneliness are clear – including increased risk for heart disease, stroke, depression and dementia – we lack practical and research-based solutions to ease this pervasive issue.
WE BELIEVE THAT ALL YOUNG PEOPLE
DESERVE MEANINGFUL SOCIAL CONNECTION

HOW WE ARE PARTNERING WITH
nonprofit, academic, and policy leaders
—
Raise Awareness, Reduce Stigma and Take Action
To take action and further our commitment to fostering social connection, we are partnering with Born This Way Foundation – a nonprofit that supports youth mental health and works with young people to build a kinder and braver world — and Active Minds – a nonprofit dedicated to changing the way young adults talk about, care for, and value their mental health every day.
In 2022, to kick off our first year of The Social Connection Project, we sponsored events across the United States with our partners to support mental wellness and destigmatize isolation and loneliness. We plan to continue this work in 2023!
Research How Events Contribute to Social Connection
Eventbrite is partnering with two of the world’s leading experts in social connection and its impact on wellbeing and health, Drs. Julianne Holt-Lunstad and Richard Slatcher, to study how live events contribute to social connection. The first-of-its-kind independent research will also examine whether there are event features that are specifically associated with social connection. In 2022 we started this research by surveying Eventbrite attendees about the events they went to and their feelings of social connection and loneliness. We plan to use the responses from over 7,500 attendees to better understand how event creators can host experiences that bring people together and maximize their social connection.
Engage in Policy Advocacy and Coalition Building
Eventbrite is a steering committee member of the Coalition to End Social Isolation & Loneliness and chairs its Young Adults Working Group. The coalition is working to end social isolation through research, policy interventions and public awareness. Both through this coalition and through direct engagement, we identify and advocate legislation or government programs that address social isolation.
