Split
Summary

Split is well known for its beaches and the fortress-like complex at its centre, Diocletian's Palace, erected by the Roman emperor in the 4th century.

This mediaeval palace was used as a filming location for many scenes in Game of Thrones, with the most prominent being the palace dungeons; the location where Daenerys kept her dragons.

Explore the fascinating Old Town before checking into your ship at Split Port at 10.30am.

Your ship will set sail on the very same sea that Euron Greyjoy traversed with his Iron Fleet at 1pm.

Please Note: your cabin may not be ready until 12:30pm.

Makarska, Croatia
Day 1
Makarska
Summary

We depart Split harbour at 1pm, and have lunch onboard as we sail down the Dalmatian coast to the Makarska Riviera. Your first afternoon will be spent swimming at one of the beautiful beaches along the Riviera.

Tonight, the ship will overnight in the port of Makarska, one of the most beautiful destinations on the Croatian coast. Makarska nestles under the massive peaks of the Biokovo mountain range, with Mt Jure being the highest seaside peak on the Mediterranean.

Strolling along the streets of Makarska, you will come across numerous churches and other architectural sights. For nightlife options, there is the cocktail bar Marineta and for late night takers, there is "Club Deep" set in a natural cave next to the sea.

Optional Excursion
Korcula, Croatia
Day 2
Korcula
Summary

After breakfast we set sail for Korcula, the rumored birthplace of Marco Polo. Lunch will be served onboard near Lumbarda bay, on the eastern side of Korcula island. We will overnight in the port of Korcula Town.

Explore this fortified town with its narrow streets and lookout towers, and spend your afternoon discovering the island's legends, myths and tales. The town's stone walls were built over two centuries ago, and the Old Town is built in a fishbone structure that you have to see to believe.

Optional Excursions
Dubrovnik, Croatia
Day 3
Dubrovnik
Summary

We leave Korcula behind and set sail for the medieval city of Dubrovnik, one of the most prominent Game of Thrones filming locations in all of Croatia.

We'll dock in the early afternoon, and head straight to Kings Landing, where our Game of Thrones Walking Tour will commence. This guided walking tour is led by a Game of Thrones expert, and will take you to filming locations such as the Red Keep, Blackwater Bay, and the Walk of Shame.

Once we've explored the city on foot, we'll take a short ferry ride across to Lokrum Island, the stand-in filming location for the city of Qarth. Walk through the beautiful botanical gardens and Benedictine Monastery, which were both used as the backdrop for garden party scenes in season two.

After all that exploring, it's time to take a seat, and the best place to do so is on the Iron Throne! Gifted to the City of Dubrovnik after filming finished, you'll have the opportunity to channel your inner Joffrey and sit on the original Iron Throne.

Take the ferry back to Dubrovnik Old Town and discover the many cafes and bars perched along the city walls. Enjoy a cold drink and watch the sunset, imagining many of the scenes playing out with this very view in the background.

We'll overnight in the Port of Gruz, just outside this magical city.

Mljet, Croatia
Day 4
Mljet
Summary

We set sail early this morning and head toward the beautiful National Park island of Mljet. Once docked, you are free to explore the salt lakes within the National Park.

Inside the National Park you are able to visit the isle of St Mary, which is home to an ancient Benedictine monastery, an old abbey and a church dating back to the 12th century that are just waiting to be explored.

The National Park is best discovered using a bicycle or kayak that can be hired within the park grounds. We will overnight in the port of Polace or Pomena this evening and catch one of Mljet's famous sunsets from the back of the ship.

Hvar, Croatia
Day 5
Hvar
Summary

Early this morning we'll depart for the Pakleni Islands where we have lunch onboard and stop for a swim in the crystal clear water. Hvar is the longest island in the Adriatic and is famous for its super-yachts and celebrity status.

Climb the hill for a dragons eye view, and visit the 16th Century Fortress ruins overlooking the harbour.

The town of Hvar offers plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes that are open well into the night.

Please Note: The docking time in Hvar can be early evening in peak season due to port authority restrictions. However if guests would like to arrive earlier, water taxi transfer will be arranged for one time slot for the boat, which will be included for all guests.

Stari Grad, Croatia
Day 6
Stari Grad
Summary

For our second night on Hvar island, we moor overnight in the quaint harbour town of Stari Grad.

Situated on the northern side of the island, Stari Grad literally means 'Old Town' and it is the oldest town in Croatia. Stari Grad boasts an attractive network of old narrow streets and small squares around the harbour. Vineyards and olive groves surround the town and the Stari Grad Plain is a UNESCO protected World Heritage Site.

In true Tyrion Lannister fashion ("I drink, and I know things"), this afternoon you'll have the opportunity to taste a variety of award winning Croatian wines at the optional Wine Tasting Excursion.

FAQ'S

What is the Game of Thrones Cruise?

The Game of Thrones cruise is ideal for fans of the HBO series that want to visit filming locations with other young professionals and young at heart travellers! There is an emphasis on sightseeing and relaxing onboard this cruise, whilst still giving you the opportunity to explore Game of Thrones filming locations.

What time do cruises start/finish?

The Game of Thrones Cruise will depart Split on a Saturday at 13:00. All ships arrive at their final port on a Friday afternoon, and check-out is between 8am and 9am on the following Saturday.

What are the cabin arrangements?

The ship onboard this cruise consists of either a Twin or Double bed, ensuite and air-conditioning. Twin or Double bed cabins are confirmed during the booking stage, so please let us know your preferences. On some ships, we also have Triple cabins available. Triple cabins consist of a double bed and a single bunk, and we provide a 10% discount per person.

What is the difference between Above Deck and Lower Deck cabins?

Above Deck cabins are on the main deck of the ship or just above it. Lower Deck cabins are in the hull of the ship. There are pros and cons to both - Lower Deck cabins are often cooler and quieter at night, as you do not have many travellers walking past your cabin as much as the Above Deck cabins. Above Deck cabins offer more natural light and ventilation. Each ship is unique and therefore the layout varies from ship to ship. Please note: On some ships, the Above Deck cabins are located across two levels, i.e. located on the main deck and on a higher deck level.

I am travelling by myself, is there a single supplement?

If you prefer to have your own cabin, you can pay a single supplement which is 50% of the one person price. Please note single supplements are not applicable on Special Offers or discounted cruises. Alternatively, we can match you with another solo traveller of the same sex onboard the ship.

What food is included?

Breakfast and a 3-course lunch are included daily onboard this cruise. Breakfast is usually continental style, with additional warm food such as eggs. Lunches are usually 3 courses, with a soup/salad starter, meat or fish-based main course and fruit/cake for dessert, prepared by your onboard cook. All other evenings, we encourage our clients to explore the local towns, experiencing local food and wine! Of course we can offer suggestions on the best places to go!

Can I bring food and drink onboard?

You cannot bring food and drink onboard the ship, except for items that fill specific dietary requirements. Each boat has its own bar and drinks consumed onboard must be purchased from here. You have unlimited access to the onboard water cooler during the salon opening times. We recommend bringing a re-usable water bottle with you onboard, and filling this up before the salon closes for the evening.

Are there any local payments that I need to be aware of?

A local payment of 30 Euros per person is payable onboard your Sail Croatia Cruise. This payment incorporates port fees and tourist taxes throughout the week and is subject to change.

What type of luggage should I bring?

If you’re joining us from within Europe, we highly recommend limiting your luggage to one suitcase; however, we understand that this might not be possible for international travellers who are flying in just for the cruise, or on extended trips. In most cabins, you will be able to store bags under the bed; however, in the case of excess luggage, please ask check-in staff to give you additional information about possible storage.
