Jonathan serves with his pastor, friend and father, Dr. Tony Evans, both in the local church and the national ministry. They also teamed up together to write Get in the Game, a practical guidebook filled with sports analogies and spiritual truths aimed at strengthening readers with the skills they need for living victoriously.

Jonathan is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary with a masters degree in Christian Leadership. He also serves as the chaplain of the Dallas Cowboys and co-chaplain of the Dallas Mavericks. Jonathan is a dynamic speaker at churches, conferences, men’s events, banquets, youth, and FCA events. He is committed to developing the next generation of devoted Christian leaders.

Jonathan and his wife Kanika are the proud parents of Kelsey, Jonathan II, Kamden, Kylar, and Jade Wynter. They reside in Dallas, Texas.

    I stumbled on this book at the elibrary during a very hard time (battling cancer myself, and now my mom will also be starting treatment for a deadly disease). The back copy on the book says that it helps us fight our battles, but truly, this book is so much about how God fights FOR us; He reminds us repeatedly that the battle is not OURS to fight -- it is only His strength, and His view of the battlefield that ever bring us victory in our greatest struggles.

    I've bought a copy for my dad, for my son, and now for my brother-in-law. My husband has also started reading it. It's a beautiful reminder of all that God can do when we allow Him space to work in our lives. While His answers may not be what we most desire, when we are walking close to Him, and when we truly abide in Him, we know we are safe, and that His loving will is ALWAYS what is best for us and those we love.

    I got this book as a Christmas gift and told myself it would be my January book that I'd get through and it would leave me reading to swing through the rest of the year. The encouragement and biblical application found throughout the book was both funny and moving. Plenty of times I found myself reading through chapters in tears and seeing Jonathan's reminder to not quit helped spiritually train me to persevere. I'm not quite out of my season of stripping yet but I look forward in anticipation now instead of defeat knowing that I need to keep fighting from the place of victory, not fighting for the victory....in Jesus name I already got it! Thank you for this amazing book, I plan on sharing it with all my friends.
