Today, the I-75/I-24 split ranks as the 59th worst trucking bottleneck in the country, per the American Transportation Research Institute. In 2021, it came in at No. 7. While first phase of construction on the interchange helped ease traffic some, phase two makes big promises (including a 3-lane exit from I-75 North as it merges with I-24 West). Major work begins this fall, with the project scheduled to run through 2025.
