We have 76 digital credential issuers using the platform and we have secured 334,000 users to our platform by contract with key customers such as the Stanbic Bank, Uganda Law Society, Uganda Marketers Society, The Human Resource Managers Association of Uganda, SAP University Alliances, the MTN Youth Skilling program, NSSF Hi innovator, Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial Services to mention but a few. The platform is currently being used in Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Lesotho, Namibia, Ghana and USA. Well said Lucrezia Biteete 👏 How we manage change, how we embrace change, and the fact that we are all afraid of change as human beings is a key topic when it comes to digital transformation. Maybe one of the most prominent learnings we have made while implementing the Diwala platform in East and West Africa is exactly that; the need to change cultural norms and beliefs and the mindset people have about digital tools and services to enable digital transformation. This mindset change is needed both in authority and leadership management, as well as in people in general. We know that it will take a lot of awareness work and education in this area to drive the digital transformation needed. It is great to see that the AU-EU Digital for Development (D4D) Hub is on this mission too! 💪

For the last year or so, the AU-EU Digital for Development (D4D) Hub project has been cooperating with the Public Procurement Authority (PPDA) or Uganda on their digital transformation journey. The first activity included a study visit to Estonia, with a focus on e-procurement and underlying digital infrastructure. Secondly, we developed a digital roadmap and finally over 15 staff members underwent training in agile change management, software project management and cybersecurity. The main theme in yesterday's workshop was change, how we manage change, how we embrace change and the fact that we are all afraid of change as human beings. Digital transformation does not mean just digitising existing processes, but rather the transformation and change of how the authority works, in order to better meet its strategic goals. For this, management needs to lead and support and all departments must cooperate and be involved. We enjoyed the discussions with this dynamic team!
