From Dishwasher to Sommelier to the Stars

Only 31, Canadian-born Baker-Briggs is a millennial BIPOC sommelier and entrepreneur who focuses on helping young collectors to find and buy wines. He started out as a restaurant dishwasher before training as a chef at three-star Michelin Coi in San Francisco, as well as at Takazawa in Tokyo, a World’s 50 Best Restaurant. He also served as director of service and beverage at Saison in San Fran – cisco. As a consultant, Baker-Briggs boasts an international clientele of tech founders and NBA athletes and, in addition, he recently launched an online import company and bottle shop called Thatcher’s Wine.
