In the weekly price adjustments by the provincial regulator, diesel rose to 233.6 cents a litre from 226.2 cents — an increase of 7.4 cents in Zone 1. In Cape Breton, it's 235.5.

The same week a year ago, gas cost 141.5 cents a litre and diesel was 141.1.
