The price of gas in Nova Scotia took a jump of just over a nickel a litre overnight. And diesel rose even higher.
Gas now costs a minimum of 181.5 cents a litre in Zone 1, which includes the Halifax area, and is slightly higher in other areas of the province topping out in Cape Breton at 183.5 cents. That's an increase of 5.2 cents a litre.
In the weekly price adjustments by the provincial regulator, diesel rose to 233.6 cents a litre from 226.2 cents — an increase of 7.4 cents in Zone 1. In Cape Breton, it's 235.5.
The same week a year ago, gas cost 141.5 cents a litre and diesel was 141.1.
