Rep. Elise Stefanik (R) speaking on the House floor Wednesday night.

North Country Congresswoman Elise Stefanik voted to object to one of two state’s electors as Congress certified Joe Biden as the President-Elect early Thursday morning.

Stefanik, a Republican who’s become one of President Trump’s most trusted allies, spoke against the state-certified votes in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Wisconsin, and Michigan. You can watch her complete remarks here.

"Tens of millions of Americans are concerned that the 2020 election featured unconstitutional overreach by unelected officials and judges, ignoring state election laws," Stefanik said during a five-minute speech on the House floor. "We can and we should peacefully discuss these concerns."

Those concerns have already played out in lawsuits Trump lost in those states.

Stefanik also forcefully condemned the violence of rioters who unlawfully broke into and vandalized the Capitol Wednesday during her speech. "This peaceful debate serves as a powerful condemnation to the violence that was perpetrated on our Capitol grounds today," she said.

In the end, Congress only voted on objections to the votes in Pennsylvania and Arizona. Stefanik voted in favor of objection only in Pennsylvania.

Both measures failed and Joe Biden was certified to be the next President.
