Norilsk Nickel keeps plans to issue digital financial assets

It is stressed that distribution channels and demand and liquidity generation are current and open issues

MOSCOW, November 10. /TASS/. Norilsk Nickel keeps plans of issuing digital financial assets (DFA) for baskets of metals, department director of the Russian mining and metals company told TASS on the sidelines of the Finopolis forum.

"Fundamentally, yes, [the company] keeps [plans], but no clear-cut plans so far. We had the maiden issue of DFA pegged to palladium. The precedent is in place, we will see how it will evolve," Alexander Gavrilov said. Distribution channels and demand and liquidity generation are current and open issues, he noted.

"The potential is vast. Very many things bump into the regulatory environment also. I hope initiatives we have talked about will be implemented. This will enable the market to have many-fold growth," the department director added.

In July 2022, Norilsk Nickel floated the first DFA in Russia for palladium.
