A total of 11 diamond drill holes were completed across four prospects – Sortekap, Miki, Cascata and Pyramid at Conico’s (ASX:CNJ) Ryberg Project in Greenland, about 365km northwest of Iceland.

Results have been received for 9 of the 11 holes, confirming the presence of copper-nickel-PGE mineralisation at the Miki and Sortekap prospects as well as gold mineralisation in a previously unknown zone of quartz veins in Sortekap.

Rock chips have also been collected from the Mestervig project, Conico (ASX:CNJ) says, with assaying of the Mesersvig drill core and rock samples being a high priority ahead of results in December.

Samples from Ryberg drillholes that were not sampled on-site will also be processed in the coming weeks.

Looking ahead to more drilling results from Mestervig

“The 2022 exploration tested only 3.5km of the approximately 50km-long Miki dyke and successfully intersected highlight anomalous copper, nickel and PGEs,” CNJ executive director Guy Le Page says.

“The Ryberg Project remains lightly tested and we now look forward to receiving the results from the Mestersvig Project where the 2022 drill campaign intersected a number of lead-zinc intercepts along strike from the historical Blyklippen Mine”.

One of the best assay results from the 2022 Sortekap drilling include 3.28m at 0.41% copper, 0.07% nickel and 1.12g/t 3E from 105.5m as well as 1m at 0.83% copper, 0.11% nickel and 2.49g/t 3E from 105.5m.

Others include 1.40m at 0.07% copper, 0.01% nickel, and 0.11g/t 3E from 109.2m and 1m at 0.17% copper, 0.04% nickel and 0.33g/t 3E from 112.8m.

Strong building blocks for further work

While the mineralisation intercepted from the 2022 drilling is generally low grade, Conico considers the season and new data collected to be a very successful outcome.

Intercepting magmatic sulphide-hosted Cu-Ni-PGE mineralisation, as well as identifying previously unknown quartz vein-hosted gold mineralisation, is a positive result for the season and provides building blocks for further work.
