Who Went Home and Who Won 'Special Forces: World's Toughest Test'

Here's a guide to the celebrity "recruits" who went home on Fox's new boot camp-style reality series, Special Forces: World's Toughest Test. (Unlike most reality shows, exiting this competition doesn't happen by elimination. The only way the "recruits" can leave is to give up on their own accord, through failure or potential injury, or by force from the agents.)

The first episode of Fox's new reality series Special Forces: World's Toughest Test saw 16 celebrities show up to answer the call of duty. However, by the end of the episode, four of them were already gone.

Kate Gosselin was the first to go in the premiere episode due to an injury after being tasked with falling backward out of a helicopter into open water.

"I landed right on my neck and I screamed when I landed because it was absolute ridiculous pain," the Kate Plus 8 star told PEOPLE after exiting the competition.

She was loaded into the ambulance in a neck brace and driven away before she could even complete the first day. The injury forced the mom of eight out of the competition.

Although Dr. Drew Pinsky survived the backwards helicopter plunge, he went to the medic complaining of a headache and nausea after spending 14 hours in the desert.

The Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew star suffered severe dehydration, ultimately becoming the second recruit to leave — as he was "medically withdrawn" from the course in the first episode.

As Day 2 began, the recruits were tasked with crossing a 300-foot-wide canyon on a single wire, 200 feet off the ground (similar to a tightrope).

Tyler Florence admitted to having "real reservations about doing this" when it was his turn to cross. Further contributing to his doubts, he admitted that he had promised his wife for her birthday that he wouldn't hurt himself.

Therefore, the chef became the first recruit to voluntarily withdraw from the competition— and the third recruit to leave in the two-part premiere episode.

The recruits were faced with a third task, simultaneously marking their first combat task: they had to fight one of the DS agents who donned a red, padded suit for the occasion.

Montell Jordan was one of many recruits who were checked out by the medic after fighting. The R&B star was medically withdrawn from the training after suffering a suspected broken thumb —marking the fourth to exit the competition in the two-part premiere episode.

Episode 3, titled "Mindset," saw the exit of Jamie Lynn Spears, who tearfully decided to hand in her bracelet as a result of just that: her mindset.

The mom of two chose to withdraw from the competition because she missed her children, daughters Maddie and Ivy.

"Not only do I just love them and want to be with them, but also being away from them like this, even just for myself, it makes me feel like a crap mom, you know? They didn't ask for their mom to be gone," Spears told the cameras of her decision to leave.

Nastia Liukin

In Special Forces episode 3, Nastia Liukin abruptly decided to exit the show after her castmate Gus Kenworthy suggested she had received special treatment during the challenge.

The former US Olympian told PEOPLE she believed her "integrity was at stake," which is something she "doesn't take lightly."

Now that the experience is in her past, Liukin says, "Looking back, I realized that I did allow my own perception of myself to be impacted by situations that were happening around me."

Also exiting the competition in episode 3 was Mel B who said goodbye on her own terms. She contemplated her future on the show while smoking a cigarette after her successful completion of the day's task.

"I think I've done what I set out to do. I've taken orders and I've done it," she explained. "It's like I didn't even expect to last like a day. I've done it now. I think that's really good."

She continued: "I don't want anyone to be sad that I'm leaving. I did my best, and bear in mind that I've come from a hurricane. So to walk through that hurricane and not be too, like, battered and twisted? It's good. It's a good feeling."

Beverley Mitchell

Beverley Mitchell withdrew from the competition in episode 4 after failing to complete a grueling task that required the recruits to push a truck and carry heavy items up a steep hill.

Physically, Mitchell was unstable and began to hyperventilate before falling to the ground. "I'm spinning," she said as Dwight Howard helped her up. "I'm afraid of cracking my head open on the rocks because I'm so unsteady."

Unsure if she could go forth in the exercise, she took off her wristband and left the competition, making her the eight recruit to exit Special Forces.

Former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci withdrew from Special Forces in episode 6 after realizing his body was failing him, in part due to a bad bump on his head that sent him into concussion protocol the day prior.

Despite his choice to exit the competition, he was confidence in his decision to do so. Having been the oldest recruit in the group, Scaramucci didn't let the opinions of others dictate his thoughts and actions while on the show.

"My attitude is I'm just gonna be me. I'm going to enjoy my life, and do the things I think are fun, and if other people like me for that, that's great," he told Cinema Blend. "If they decide they don't like me for that, there's really nothing I can do to control that. I'm not going to try to sway them. I'm just going to be me."

Joining Scaramucci in exiting the competition in episode 6 was reality star Kenya Moore, who exited for similar reasons. While she impressively accomplished drills like walking 40-feet above the air on thin poles and running while lit on fire, she decided to leave the show due to a pre-existing knee injury flare up.

'To come to this age and expect your body to do the same thing that it used to do and it fails you... It's like really scary,' Moore said in a confessional before dropping out of the competition.

Former soccer star Carli Lloyd was among the final two recruits remaining in Special Forces, alongside Bachelorette star Hannah Brown. She placed second in the competition overall.

Hannah Brown was the last recruit remaining in the competition, thus being named "winner" of Special Forces.

"Going into it, I was like, 'No pressure, because no one is going to expect me to be the best,'" Brown recalled to PEOPLE. "It was harder than anything I'd ever done. But now, I know that I can get through anything. And I'm more resilient than I ever thought I was."
