Transforming a 76-acre industrial site into Charlotte's hub for innovation and creativity.
About us
Once used to produce Model Ts and Army missiles, this 76-acre historic industrial site now serves as a hub for creativity and innovation in the heart of Charlotte’s North End Smart District. Camp North End is Charlotte’s largest adaptive reuse project, a unique space where entrepreneurs, artists, and community builders connect and create like never before. Camp North End’s most historic building, the Ford Building, was designed by famed Detroit architect Albert Kahn and built in 1924. It originally served as a Model T and Model A production facility and automobile showroom.

This week, a2 analytics, LLC moved into our new office at Camp North End. Which means two things: 1️⃣ We officially made it a year as a startup. 2️⃣ We’re now headquartered in a place that has meant a lot to my family and our Charlotte journey. A year ago, Ali and I started A2 with half an idea, two pregnant wives, and—well, as data guys, we knew the odds of making it to the 1-year mark (and we almost didn’t). But we kept showing up. And now, we’ve got paying customers we enjoy working with, a growing business, and enough savings to graduate from our 48 square-foot starter office to something we can grow into. And Camp North End is more than buildings to us. It’s where my wife, Varian, helped launch the project back in 2017—when Camp was 76 acres of razor wire and raw potential. In those early days, I was the guy getting texts to “pop up” and pretend to be a casual office worker around the site for important investor visits. I played conductor on a kids’ train during community events. I spent Friday nights helping Varian set up (and break down) Camp Fridays. And I once bombed an improv set so badly hosting a "Vino and Fromage" event series I thought they’d pull the plug—before Tim Edwards and I rallied with a Cask of Amontillado inspired set explaining the price of high-end wines (you had to be there...). In those years, I got to be around a small team of creative problem-solvers doing whatever it took to build something from nothing. I didn’t know it at the time, but I was learning lessons on startup intensity we use at A2 today. So this move isn’t just about signing a lease. It’s a full-circle moment. We’re proud to be here. And we’re grateful for everyone who helped us get to Year 2. 👉 The full story (plus a few Camp throwbacks) in the carousel: #Startups #FounderJourney #Entreprenuership #BuildInPublic
