Darby Vincent Doan is a partner with haltom & doan in the Firm’s Texarkana and Marshall offices.  His primary areas of practice are in litigation - commercial and business, intellectual property, product liability, and personal injury.  Darby has tried cases to verdict and has handled all phases of appeals in both state and federal courts throughout Texas and Arkansas.  He has been selected to the Texas Super Lawyers (Texas Monthly magazine) list each year since 2006.

Darby is licensed to practice in Texas and Arkansas state courts as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern, Western, and Northern Districts of Texas and the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas.  He is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Eighth Circuits.  Darby is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, Arkansas Bar Association, Northeast Texas and Southwest Arkansas Bar Associations, and Texarkana Bar Association.  He is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and the Arkansas Bar Foundation, a member of International Association of Defense Counsel, Defense Research Institute, Texas Association of Defense Counsel and the Arkansas Association of Defense Counsel, and is a former founding member of the Texarkana Young Lawyers Association. 

Darby is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in Texas and Arkansas.  In addition to his law practice and CPA licensure, Darby serves on the board of directors for Christian Preschool of Texarkana, is the past-president (2018-19) of the Texarkana Bar Association and (2003-04) of the Texarkana Chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and is a former Director of the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants (2006-09).  He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants. 

Darby graduated in 1995 from Southern Methodist University School of Law, cum laude.  At SMU, he was an editor of the International Lawyer law review and a member of The Barristers.  Prior to law school, Darby earned his B.B.A. from Abilene Christian University in 1988.
