THE PEWS PROJECT

As we work to reach our $2.8M goal to begin work on the interior of the historic First Church Roxbury, there is an exciting opportunity for you to be an important part of this transformation.

Part of this work inside Boston's oldest wood-framed church will be on the 106 box pews.  They are beautiful, but if you've seen them in the past few years you know that they need some love.  That's where this opportunity was born...

Join us in this work and sponsor a pew.

SPONSOR A PEW

Sponsor the work that restores the Meetinghouse pews.

THE PEWS PROJECT

  • Your $1,000 donation will help fund the work that brings the 106 box pews back to life, and ready to welcome guests again.

  • When you sponsor a pew, we will send you a photo of "your" pew, along with any historical information that we know about it.

  • Then when the work in the Meetinghouse is completed, join us for a celebration and sit in the pew you helped restore.

SUPPORT THE RESTORATION OF
ROXBURY'S MEETINGHOUSE

Your gift will sponsor the work done to:

  • Remove all of the cushions currently on the downstairs pews (that are filled with horse hair)

  • Restore the woodwork

  • Remove the layers of old paint and give each pew a new fresh and vibrant coat of new paint

  • Fix the doors of each pew box

The restored Meetinghouse will be a home for the arts, humanities, and civic engagement in Roxbury - and one that our neighborhood needs and deserves.

Join us in this work and sponsor a pew today!
