Thanks to new flexibilities in the government's Adult Skills Fund (ASF) for 2024-2025, non-regulated, tailored learning provision like AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group’s Bespoke offer now qualifies for Adult Skills funding. Previously restricted to regulated qualifications, the ASF now includes a ‘tailored learning’ category encompassing non-regulated courses and employer-specific programmes like AIM's Bespoke provision. This opens doors for organisations to upskill their workforce through funded customised training. "This is a significant change for organisations seeking innovative training solutions," said Fabienne Bailey, AIM's Business Growth and Transformation director. “Previously, adult skills funding was primarily restricted to regulated qualifications but this new ‘tailored learning’ category brings together community learning, non-regulated courses, and employer-facing provision (that is not qualification-based) under one umbrella eligible for funding, which is great news for organisations working with us to develop bespoke provision”. https://lnkd.in/e4TvgGkn #ChamberRMteam Jas Jandu Sian Timmins Gary Birch Lillian Elekan

So proud of the CREATE Education Projects partnership with BAE Systems Air and the amazing work that the Inspiring Lancashire programme is making with schools, teachers and young people. The programme has provided access to new technology (3D printing), teacher training, student workshops and a student competition format. Our Year 2 Impact Report is available to read via this link: https://lnkd.in/ep8MuRbQ Key data/findings across the 2 years: 152 schools engaged (52 secondary / 100 primary). 357 teachers have accessed training. 8,761 young people directly impacted upon. Impact on secondary schools: 98% of teachers said the student workshops improved or significantly improved the development of new and specialist digital skills. 96% of teachers reported a positive change in learner attitudes, which included enhanced wellbeing and more informed choices for future career paths. 100% of teachers agreed that the student workshops helped students understand how the programme could impact their future life chances. 67% of students indicated that the project made them consider pursuing a career in science, technology, or engineering. A teacher from All Hallows RC High School, emphasised the difference the programme has made to their education: “After we got the 3D printer, it completely transformed how we approach GCSE projects. Students now design using Onshape, and when they see their creations come to life, it’s truly a WOW moment. The 3D printer, paired with teacher training, has been a game changer.” Impact on primary schools: 94% of teachers noted that the introduction of 3D printers developed new digital skills among learners. 94% of teachers observed a positive impact on student engagement with the technology. 93% of teachers reported improvements in student behaviour and attitudes, including a broader awareness of potential careers in STEAM fields. 94% of teachers said the programme helped students understand how technology could shape their future career options. A teacher from Trinity CE Methodist Primary School shared, “The opportunity to be a part of this programme has been fantastic. It’s allowed our pupils to gain new skills, to design, and to see technology coming to life in our school. The software and the 3D printer have been amazing tools to help inspire the next generation of innovators.” A huge thank you to all the schools, teachers and young people who have taken part in this programme so far and a special thank you to BAE Systems Air for their continued support. It was great to speak to leaders in FE colleges about the Department for Education's Digital Leadership and Governance standards and introduce our quick guide on where to start https://lnkd.in/eiemjSBi In terms of assigning a senior leadership team (SLT) member to be responsible for digital technology I suggested: - Not assuming it should be someone from IT (though it could be) but instead choosing someone with the relationships and authority to lead change across the organisation. - Assigning someone who is enthusiastic and discerning towards digital technology and it's potential across the college's different functions. - Remembering that it's more about the people than the technology so they need to engage people as well as scan the horizon for emerging trends. #digitalleaders #digitalleadership #digitalculture

Workplace skills are increasingly recognised as critical for success in personal and professional settings, whilst basic digital skills are now expected for most roles in order to navigate and work effectively in a digital society. Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce are delivering training courses to people living in Worcestershire and in many cases are fully funded. (Funding available dpending on location) These courses are designed following specific feedback from local employers through the Worcestershire LSIP findings in which employers identified two large skills gaps that are both a need and a necessity in the workplace. ▪ IT skills for the Workplace: Participants will gain proficiency in computer navigation, basic functions, and the utilisation of fundamental office programmes, empowering them to enhance efficiency and foster professional development, including: Internet Safety and Security Exploring Microsoft packages (Teams, Excel, Word and Outlook). An introduction to social media ▪ Professional Skills for the Workplace Participants of this course will have the opportunity to learn more about building confidence and assertiveness in the workplace by identifying personal strengths and how to handle feedback. The course will also cover the fundamentals of communication, as well as demonstrate effective techniques and skills. You’ll also learn more about the importance of work ethic, professionalism and time management. It is appropriate not just for people entering the world of work but also for newly appointed or future line managers.
