Bare Marriage

Hi! We're Sheila Wray Gregoire, Rebecca Gregoire Lindenbach, and Joanna Sawatsky, the co-authors of The Great Sex Rescue: The Lies You've Been Taught and How to Recover What God Intended. Basically, we want to change the evangelical conversation about sex to something that is healthy and life-giving, rather than soul-crushing. To do that, we conducted the largest survey ever done of Christian women's marital and sexual satisfaction--20,000 women in all! Joanna ran a ton of smart-like data stuff, and many of our results are in The Great Sex Rescue. But we have a treasure-trove of data that has yet to be analyzed, plus a ton of ideas for peer-reviewed journal articles. But we can't get paid for that. So we'd like to get funding for two main things: 1. Paying for Joanna's time and research assistants' time and more so that we can publish our findings in peer-reviewed journals, getting more validation for our study and our book and helping others understand the root of many of evangelicalism's problems with sex; 2. Funding more creative ways to spread our findings, including more videos, TikToks, and other relevant social media channels which we can't currently monetize. None of this money will go to pay Sheila or fund normal activities at Bare Marriage (Sheila's blog). That's already covered! This is ONLY for funding research and new ways of talking about our data, including transcribing our podcasts to make them accessible to the deaf.&nbsp; We just want to get super creative--by being super relevant to younger generations, and super smart for peer review. Together we really can change the conversation!
