Variscan Mines (ASX:VAR) is another step closer towards defining a maiden JORC zinc resource for its San Jose mine in Spain after upgrading and expanding its database of historical holes.
The enhanced database of 983 drill holes totalling 88,155m has been used to construct a 3D model of mineralisation and mine development, which confirmed the presence of thick, high-grade, accessible sulphide zinc-mineralised lenses.
Analysis of the database has also highlighted in-mine and near-mine upside as well as prospective step-out zones for future exploration.
The company plans to drill test underground targets as soon as practicable with step-out surface drilling to be conducted in H2 of this year.
NickelX’s (ASX:NKL) search for Julimar-style nickel-copper-PGEs has been boosted by electromagnetic surveys identifying two very strong basement-hosted anomalies at its Dalwallinu project in WA’s West Yilgarn region.
Plate modelling of a moving loop electromagnetic survey and subsequent fixed loop electromagnetic survey generated the DEM1 and DEM2 targets which have conductances that are consistent with massive sulphide mineralisation.
MD Matt Gauci said the results confirm the prospectivity of Dalwallinu to host massive sulphide mineralisation and when combined with high tenure nickel, copper and PGE in soil geochemical results, closes the loop on the application of modern geophysics and detailed sampling to further refine drill targets at Dalwallinu.
Augustus Minerals (ASX:AUG) listed this morning following a $10m IPO with 3600sqkm of ground in the red-hot Gascoyne region of WA.
The Gascoyne has been in the headlines for a slew of lithium and rare earths discoveries, most notably Delta Lithium’s (ASX:DLI) ‘district scale’ Yinnetharra play.
As an early mover into the Gascoyne, AUG was able to pick up some prime ground along the Ti Tree shear zone with a bunch of high priority lithium, REE and copper targets to test with planned extensive drilling campaigns.
Kingsland Minerals (ASX:KNG) is off to a solid start at its Leliyn project in the Northern Territory, with first four RC holes intersecting up to 150m downhole of graphitic schist – with assays expected in 4-6 weeks.
And Mamba Exploration (ASX:M24) has hit very wide and shallow clay hosted TREO mineralisation over 2km by 1km area at its Hyden project in WA, including 32m @ 1,480 parts per million (ppm) REE from 16m to end of hole, including 12m @ 1,899ppm.
