Here at Tequate Ltd - Training and Consultancy, we deliver training and consultancy on the latest (and not so latest) Tech and Commercial models, for Broadast Media, and Converged Services companies. We have an insatiable thirst for knowledge, that powers and monetizes modern broadcast media and OTT services, no small part of that, is attending innumerable trade shows So after much ado and planning, booking of travel and accommodation, IBC is, yet again almost upon us. Industry luminaries, stalwarts, and neophytes alike, will all thrown into the maelstrom, and jostle cheek-by-jowl, over five days packed with information, action, and intensive networking, in it’s myriad forms, over the 14 halls of the Rai Centre, and beyond. We will be therefrom the full duration, and intend in that time to make the very most of the show. We will be attending numerous talks, to gather information on the latest trends, visiting the stands of our clients, as well as those we have been in talks with, and of course attending pre-arranged meetings. We’re particularly keen, to hear about 5G/6G(already?)Cellular Innovations for Media Distribution, novel AI and ML solutions, (no, not you Gen A.I sit down)- around upscaling, streaming efficiencies, and traffic modelling, as well as emerging codecs and standards, particularly those which help to solve the pernicious ‘interoperability condundrum’ in Broadcast workflow. All of these are key areas for our current work and future planning. We will also meet with vendor and solutions partners in the industry, to learn about their latest technical specifications, and release roadmaps, as they all have a significant part to play in the unfurling development of modern Broadcast and OTT Ecosystems, and therefore are valuable resources for us, in deploying our highly bespoke knowledge solutions to our clients We’ve created an IBC Calendar, and due to demand, and as we will be participating in quite a number of after-hours networking events, (we are always open to invites to exclusive events we’ve not yet heard of, of course) we’ve extended the window on our meetings until 8pm. Of course, not everything can or should be planned, and we always look forward to those serendipitous moments at “the beach,” a bar or restaurant in town, or other, as yet unknown location, where the miracle of mingling will provide unexpected synergies and hopefully, inevitably, opportunities for collaboration. 19, 70, 8000, these numbers represent some interesting facts shared by Paul Thompson at yesterdays CCMA event “Embracing Empathy for a better Customer Experience” hosted in the Google office Dublin. Google have 8000 employees speaking 70 different languages across 19 offices… Pretty Impressive… 80, 45, 52 another set of numbers shared by Alison Creed, 80% of Contact Centre employees have difficult conversations with customers on a daily basis, 45% of customers say they will repurchase from a business if they show empathy and quite shockingly, 52% of employees believe their companies efforts of empathy are not authentic… Empathy should not be something we tick a box on, Empathy is something we should be practicing day in day out… massive thank you to Dorothy O' Byrne for organising and to the panellist for sharing their own experiences and opening up the conversations.
